Bride Of Frankenstein

Quick what was the name of the hulking beast in this movie???? Not the actor. That was Boris Karloff not a tough question. If you answer Frankenstein you are 100 % completely WRONG!! HA!
Well don't that bad if you got it wrong most people do. In fact the monster never is given a name. So so sad no wonder he was always pissed.
Bride of Frankenstein has been said by many ( I include myself ) to be better than the first. And if fact it is . The movie opens with Mary Shelly sitting it her sitting room (there's a shock) talking to a friend and her husband. In fact Mary Shelly wrote the story of Frankenstein and a sort of a game . Lucky for use She did. She begins to tell the two with her the "rest " of the story. In this movie we

get to meet Dr. Pretorious a delightfully mad man. He was at one time Henry Frankenstein's teacher. The good Doctor know a thing or two about our lovely Henry and "convinces" him that it would be a good idea to help him make a mate for the monster. The monster who is at this very moment terrorizing the country side. Henry gives in ( at to why I aint funna tells ya watch the movie) . Dr P. is digging up parts to make the Franken Chick . After collecting the pieces he needs . Not fresh either like Frankenstein chose . He sits down in the crypt to have a nice meal and cigar. It's the atmosphere its good for you. As he eats and yucks it up the monster was hiding in the shadows . He comes up and Dr. Pretorious feeds and bring hime along for extra musle when needed. Also this is the part of the that I and any other misfits fan will love the monster says "I hate the living I love dead" ( no we're not morbid it a song geeze. The continues and the Bride is born. Played by Valerie Hobson .

Hubba Hubba. The monster is very happy with her, but she is not so keen on him . As everything blow to a head. The monster choose to let Frankenstein have that life that the monster was not meant to have. Very deep stuff. Dr. Pretorious the crap of the piece ( get it get it ) isn't so lucky , and the fair lady isn't either. With a tear in his eye and a leaver in his hand . Boom . End of story. Well not really because the monster is back in son af Frankenstein with Basail .
This is in my opinion the greatest horror movie made. The black and white do not take from the film but add to it. Ernest Thesiger as Dr. Pretorious is truly brilliant, the way he plays the part in it self is worth the price of admission. Colin Clive brings back Frankenstein for the his 2nd playing of the role perfectly. But sadly died a few years later of Pneumonia and alcoholism.
It is also to be noted that the movie "Monsters and Gods" is based on the making of this movie >

Big Man Japan

This movie is by no means what American audiences would normally plop down $10 to see. This is the story of Daisato. A man with a rare gift, to protect japan from giant monsters. (Any fan of Godzilla's mouth has to be watering at thins point. ) Daisato is from a long line of " Big Men". In the everyday life they look normal but when danger calls they have electrodes clamped on their nipples and ZAP!!!! BIG MAN. Big man has been protecting Japan for many years, and the people of the rising sun have taken care of him. But as the now people don't that much of a need for Big Man. So Daisato is forced to rent of chest space for advertising. If at this point your thinking this cant get any crazier I have very happy to say . Yes It Can. As Daisato faces monster after moster he begins to wonder if it is all worth the trouble< and he must come to grips with the world that really dosen't want his help any more. This movie Stars Hetoshi Matsumoto. A japanese comedian who is known the world over for his particaption in some of the crazy Japanese games shows that can be seen on Youtube.
I found this movie to fun and well worth watching. It is slow in parts and if you don't pay attention you will miss things. Big Man Japan is in Japanese with engilsh subtitles. Run time is 1 hr and 53 minutes, and has a pg -13 rating.
