Princess Raccoon

Hear ye Hear ye one and all,

The Japanese are NUTS! That's why I love them. Craziness makes fun, and that is what the Japanese people understand. Princess Raccoon is no exception to that idea.
Princess Raccoon has its quirks ( many of which I attribute to a difference in culture ), but nothing that makes it hard to enjoy. Princess Raccoon's leading lady is none other than
Ziyi Zhang, and well all know who she is right ? (no ... for shame ). Ziyi was in such notable movies as "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon", "Memoirs of a Geisha", " House of The Flying Daggers" and "Rush Hour 2". Her Performance in Princess Raccoon is very enjoyable to watch. The craziness in this movie is truly fantastic. Adults and kids a like will love it. ( and not japanese crazy kids like mine) . There is many different kinds of music in this film not just the traditional Japanese style. There is even a little rap mixed in for good measure. The movie is a love story in which Prince Amechiyo ( played by Jo Odagiri ) falls in love with a Raccoon spirit. As the story progresses we find out that Prince Amechiyo father is a self centered dink that thinks of him self as the fairest in the land. Anyone who may un-seat him from this self proclaimed title he kills or banishes. Even his own son. Nice guy. Truth be told he is old and not to nice to look at. The father is trying to kill the son. As the father attacks the prince the princess steps in and is hurt . Now the prince must try to find a golden frog to save her ( how a golden frog save her is crazy in it self ) . He dies to save her She then kills herself to be with him ( see its nuts ). Other than the nutty story the dance scenes are fun to watch in the end I wasn't really sure what I had just watched but it didn't really matter because it was fun, and( thanks to Frank Kurtz for teaching me this ) that is enough. Princess Raccoon may not make a lot of sense to American viewers but that's ok ( wasn't made for us anyway), but it is enjoyable none the less.
